10 Meter Match
February 15, 2003
Today we had another Official inter-club 10M match. As opposed to our standard morning and afternoon relay format, today we had two morning relays, with the early starting at 8:30am. We saw the return of Bob Churchill after just having major back surgery only two weeks earlier. We're glad Bob is back at it, but we still feel bad for him, as he once again had to buy lunch for David. I think Dave took unfair advantage by only spotting Bob 25 points. Today was also to be a youth match day, but some of our sons had other commitments. However, the Carroll sisters, Jessica and Heather, returned in good form and had a good competitive match.....shame on the boys for not showing up. Vlad had a rough week and couldn't concentrate on the POI due to heavy work stress with drew as did Brian McLaughlin, who had a serious tendenitis flare and had to leave after only 10 shots. With those two DNF's, I could have had first place, but Terry Peterson was there to make sure an appropriate winner was on the top podium spot...congrats Terry. In addition, we had other guests that came and joined us in shooting the longer distances. Bill Slater came to practice for the forthcoming Baton Rouge FT match. Also longtime friend and first time airgun shooter, Jim Oxtoby, took a day off from stock racing and made a surprise appearance.
